The UBA Foundation National Essay Competition 2023 is a yearly essay competition open to all students in Nigeria between the ages of 17 and 21.

The UBA Foundation National Essay Competition is open to any African student who is currently enrolled in an accredited university or college within the African continent.
Participants must be between the ages of 18-25 and be citizens or permanent residents of an African country. Applicants must submit a full-length essay (1,500 words) on the topic of “African Youth and Leadership”.
Submissions must also include a completed entry form which can be found on the UBA Foundation website.
All essays must be original works and must not have been previously published. Plagiarism and other forms of cheating will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification.
Essays should be written in English and will be judged on the quality of writing, level of creativity and thoughtfulness.
The top five entries will receive cash prizes ranging from $500 to $1,000.
